 From the Executive Director
Minimize

Dear Friends,

I have some important news to share with you. After almost 10 years at Maine COLA, I will step down as Executive Director at the end of June, 2013. A well- planned leadership change is a terrific opportunity for organizational growth, and that’s just what we have in mind. With new programs, an expanding membership, and a Strong, visionary board The Search Committee, headed by director Peter Kallin, will formally announce the job opening in December, this is the perfect time for a new executive to advance our organization.. Watch for it on our web site.

This was not an easy decision for me to make. I’ve always said that I have the greatest job imaginable. Getting to know lake enthusiasts at local, regional and state levels, and working with scholars, nonprofit leaders and policymakers to protect our lakes has been a rare privilege. Still, at this time in my life it feels right to focus on family and friends, and pursue personal interests that have been set aside.

I am so proud of what we have achieved for Maine lakes through our work together! Though I’m sad to leave COLA, I’m confident about its future because of recent growth and because the strongest board we’ve ever had is at the helm. I’ll do all I can to ensure COLA’s success and growth over the coming months.

Thank you for your amazing dedication and for years of friendship and support.

Sincerely,
